Provides books and periodicals in recorded and other alternate formats for children and adults who are unable to use standard print due to visual or physical disabilities. Cassette players and talking book machines are loaned and maintained free of charge. Descriptive videos (with narration describing visual action) can be checked out. NEWSLINE service gives over-the-phone access to major newspapers read via computer speech.
Accessible Instructional Materials Center (AIM) - The Library provides textbooks in braille and other alternate formats for visually impaired students in public schools. Teachers are urged to request braille instructional materials well in advance of need, to the extent possible.

Oklahoma Assistive Technology (AT) Device Short Term Loan Program: ABLE Tech and its partners will provide specialized equipment to Oklahomans with disabilities or those that have a dependent with a disability, regardless of their type of disability, age, income level or location of residence within the state and/or appropriate targeted individuals and entities statewide. Consumers have the opportunity to borrow AT devices they would not have otherwise been able to access because no such program exists for specialized equipment. This program will provide Oklahomans with disabilities assistive technology for the purpose of allowing consumers and agencies to "try before they buy," assessment, meeting interim needs when devices go in for repair and for personnel development activities.
Information and Referral: The ABLE Tech INFO-line helps people find the assistive technology they need and keep up with new developments in the field. The ABLE Tech INFO-line provides free information and referral services on assistive technology for people of all ages with disabilities. Family members, service providers, and others who work in fields related to disabilities or to assistive technology may use this service. ABLE Tech INFO-line's resources include a statewide computer database, national resources, in-house collection of catalogs and product literature. The number is 888-885-5588.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health, through its system of local health services delivery, is ultimately responsible for protecting and improving the public's health status through strategies that focus on preventing disease. Four major service branches, Community Health Services, Family Health Services, Disease and Prevention Services and Protective Health Services, provide technical support and administrative guidance to 70 county health departments.

Oklahoma's VA Regional Office is located in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with a satellite office in Oklahoma City, out-based representatives in Tulsa, Lawton, and Ada, and Education Liaison Representatives in fourteen western regional states. As one of the Veterans Benefits Administration's largest organizations, the Muskogee Regional Office is unique in that it provides services to three different jurisdictions. In addition to administering a full range of compensation, pension, and vocational rehabilitation benefits for the state of Oklahoma, the Muskogee Regional Office is also home of the largest of the four Regional Processing Offices, which process Montgomery GI Bill Education benefits, and home to the nationwide VA Direct Deposit Program.

According to the law, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services administers the Adult Protective Services (APS) program. When someone is concerned about the well-being of an elderly friend, neighbor or relative, adult protective services specialists listen and respond. APS specialists visit the elderly person and determine whether the person is a vulnerable adult and if maltreatment has occurred. The program helps the vulnerable adult find and obtain services.
