MUSKOGEE, Okla. ― The Oklahoma School for the Blind (OSB) proudly announces that the graduating class of 2009 celebrated commencement at noon on Wednesday, May 20th, in the OSB auditorium, 3300 Gibson Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.

This year’s graduating class includes Jennifer Lee Anderson, Jordan Rae Martin, Sasha Nicole Perdue, LaQuana LaShai Sango and Bobby Allen Stones.

“I am very proud of each one of them for achieving this milestone and know that this is just the first of many great things to come,” said OSB Superintendent Karen Kizzia. “They have all worked hard for this success and will continue to succeed in the years ahead.”

OSB is a division of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), a state agency which assists Oklahomans with disabilities through vocational rehabilitation, education, employment, independent living programs and the determination of medical eligibility for disability benefits.

Founded in 1897 at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, OSB is a private school for children who are blind or visually impaired. Over the past 100 years, the school has provided education programs at no charge for thousands of students with visual disabilities, from students who attend school on campus to those served through outreach programs for families, public school teachers and communities statewide.
