Supported Employment:

Supported employment services are intended for individuals with the most severe disabilities who require a great deal of support to find, learn and/or keep a job. Many individuals who have never worked before or have never worked successfully are able to function well in competitive employment with assistance provided by community-based rehabilitation providers. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (mental retardation), serious mental illness, acquired brain injury, deaf-blindness and other severe disabilities have been assisted to work successfully through supported employment services.

Employment and Retention: Some individuals with disabilities require only short term assistance to find, learn and/or keep a job. Through contracts with the Department of Rehabilitation Services, community based providers customize their employment support services to meet the varied needs of DRS clients.
